Goals We Set – Are Goals We Get!

Done properly...Goal Setting=>Goal Getting for 2007 and beyond.

The New Year is here and hopefully you have taken the time to review your Victory List

for 2006 and draft up your MASTER WISHLIST/DREAMLIST. If you did, chances are good that it contains some wishes or dreams that would be 3-5 years away, which would be considered long range. And, there are probably some that would be short to mid range.

After you have taken the time to dream about what you want and where you want to be in the next 3-5 years, the next step is to create your GOALS LIST for 2007.

These are goals that you want to achieve in the next 12 months.

A Goal is nothing more than a Dream with a Deadline.

The moment you take action on your dreams, you have begun the process of Goal Setting and you increase the odds of successful achievement. The first Action you should always take toward any goal is to write them down on paper. Better known as Think it... Ink it!

Never leave the sight of a goal without taking action. Goal Setting is such an essential tool for success in the Martial Arts and in every area of life.

The step by step Black Belt Success System is a great example of Goal Setting in action.

Typically, becoming a Black Belt Champion takes an average of 3-5 years. This would be considered a long range goal. However, it is achieved through a series of short range and mid range achievements.

Any long range goal is attainable if you break it down into bite sized portions.

Meaning you follow the belt system concept to create a series of short range and mid-range goals that lead you toward your long range objective.

A Goal properly set is halfway met!

Hi-Achievers know what they want and they are willing to take consistent action to get it.

Set yourself up for outstanding success now as you begin your New Year.

Take the time to think about and clarify your goals for 2007.

Let's team up and never give up to make this your best year ever!

Congratulations to South Florida Black Belt family members Stef Walkling, Melissa Haley and Lew Reif on starting their year by completing the Disney Marathon. 26.2 miles of fun in the sun running through Disney in Orlando.

Top Gun Team mate, Rob Feinberg also did the half Marathon the day before. It's my opinion that the half marathon was created for those of us that wish to walk somewhat normally upon completion and would also like to kick head height for many years to come.

Of course, that is just my opinion:)

I am proud of each one of them for dedicating themselves through the Holiday Season to such a powerful and positive fitness goal for the New Year. Although we have many, we always want to have more Black Belts like them on our team

Get Fit...Stay Fit...Never Quit. This is our theme for 2007 and beyond. Each of these team members are great examples of living the Martial Arts lifestyle and walking their talk.

Speaking of walking the talk. Master Jim Andrello is in the final stages of preparation for his upcoming promotion to 6th Degree Black Belt. He has been my student for 27 years and continue to set a strong pace in his training habits.

Back in the early days, when we were hitting the tournament circuit hard, he was too. Many times he came home with the top award and fighting Grand Championship.

When we began to influence our system with multiple styles and now MMA, he was eager and open to learn and grow. When it comes to combatives, Master Andrello is always in shape and ready to go. Muay Thai, boxing, grappling or all of the above...it's all good.

He is ready for action and has a fighting spirit that will never quit. Besides being a great student, he is an outstanding Model of Excellence and motivating teacher of others.

He has mentored and influenced hundreds of Black Belts over the years and multiplies Black Belt Champions even more than he multiplies kids...he is very fertile:)

We are all very fortunate to have him as such an integral part of our organization.

Wish him luck as he gets ready for Syracuse's Black Belt Spectacular on January 27th.

If you would like to send him your best wishes or express your gratitude for his endless energy and contribution to our organization. Here's his e-mail address: jandrello@aol.com

Are you eager and ready to make this your best year ever?

I hope you are, because it is going to be a great year!

One of my many objectives in helping others through the Martial Arts, is to help my students be 100% ready for promotion when they come up for testing. Especially for advanced ranks.

Osu,
Kyoshi
