VIP Exam Nights - A Great Way to Promote your
School!

At
USA Black Belt Champions, we have had great success for
many years using our VIP Exam Nights as a primary tool
to promote the true values and benefits of the Martial
Arts and our program.
It only makes
sense when you think about it. The students that are
testing are at an absolute peak of interest and
excitement. Their family and friends are eager
supporters.
The staff and instructors are proud
to display our dojo and the talent of their
students.
Many years back, as a teacher, I made a
conscious choice to make the Graduation Night an event
that would make everyone proud. Including the Moms and
Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas, family, friends and fellow
students that attend.
I can remember back to my
belt promotions many moons ago. More than once, my
Mother would be crying on the side...not from pride, but
from fear. She actually feared that I was going to be
injured or hurt, physically and/or
emotionally.
Once I became Sensei of my own dojo,
I carried on the tradition in fine fashion. I would
literally take pleasure in torturing my students,
somehow thinking that it was going to make them better
and would make my school better.
The few that
survived those days, did become outstanding Martial
Artists and great people.
However, there were
many others that were literally scared away from me and
the Martial Arts. So, now we torture them before the
Exam Night Graduation :)
We call it pre-testing
and qualifying for rank promotion. We will have them go
through a series of pre-test stages and high light them
in class before their peers to get them ready for
promotion.
Then, we do our best to make the VIP
Exam Night an event that is designed to "WOW" anyone in
attendance. A dynamic demonstration that highlights our
students, our team and our system. We educate...motivate
and demonstrate our best side in an exciting
fashion.
It creates
an emotion and atmosphere that energizes and
influences.
We all know that people
buy off of emotion. If we want to see more people buy
into the Martial Arts and the many benefits it has to
offer, we must properly present it and make each event a
promotional tool that educates, motivates and
demonstrates our best side.
How do we accomplish this? There
are several things we do on our exam nights that make
them so special.
