Lavallee's Life Lessons

Greetings Warriors,

These past couple weeks have been very progressive and aggressive for all of us.

It's always nice to take a break for the Holidays and enjoy some rest and recharge.

However, you quickly see how much inertia it takes to get the ball rolling upon returning to the dojo. Even though you and I may be highly motivated to make this our best year ever, there are others that really get knocked off track by year end festivities & partying.

As part of our New Years Back-to-Basics campaign, we are reviewing all the fundamental elements of successful goal setting and high achievement. As Mr. Cokinos would say: Successful people never need to be told what to do, but they all need reminders!

Last week we discussed the importance of setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals....

Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Time-Dated

This week we are discussing the power of creating a Massive Action Plan. (M.A.P.)

Plan your Work...Work your Plan. As Champions in Training, we have all decided to make 2007 our best year ever. The best Black Belt Champions always strive to expand their skills, improve their conditioning and become better at every aspect of their Martial Arts.

Besides aiming for higher levels of health and fitness, skills and abilities… we also want have greater success and achievement in all other areas of our lives.

Whether we are talking business and career, financial growth and wealth building, or seeing that we have rich and rewarding relationships in our personal and professional lives.

Elite Black Belt Leaders in the Martial Arts strive to become balanced high achievers.

It's been said that if you want to predict the future, you must create it.

This is why it is a must to take time now to design your Massive Action Plan (M.A.P.) for Massive Success in 2007 and beyond.

Plan your Work – Work your Plan is all about designing an action plan for each day, each week and the months that lie ahead. A plan to get from where you are now, to where you want to go in the next 3-5 years. Creating a roadmap to a pre-determined destination.

By taking the time to properly design and create your Massive Action Plan, you will be joining the ranks of the Top 5% Elite Leaders in the world.

Proper Planning & Preparation Promotes Peak Performance.

This great quote says it all and is a simple reminder to all of us. Take the time each day to properly prepare yourself, mentally, physically and emotionally for a successful day of achievement and growth.

Health & Fitness Training Tip:

Many years back after attending a Steven Covey 7 Habits seminar, I began the habit of taking time every Sunday to plan out my next week. Pretty much laying out my week in as much detail as possible so that I can fit in everything that I consider high priority.

This is where I will pencil in when I am going to train, study, various appointments and just about anything else you could imagine. Another habit I developed was designing a meal plan. Pretty much deciding in advance when I was going to eat and a pretty good idea of what I would eat. As an active Martial Arts athlete, I eat five times a day and ingest a pretty good balance of carbs and protein. Along with lot's of water.

This keeps my energy strong and allows me to recover well between sessions. I like to work out at least once per day, often twice and rarely take more than one day per week off. That may not be right for you, but it works extremely for me.

My point is that it's important enough to me that I will plan it in advance. If I didn't do this, I may get confused with other obligations or distractions that would take me away from training as much as I like to.

We all get busy with various things in our lives. It's long been my habit and belief that I will be a much better Kyoshi, mentor, partner, husband, son and friend if I am healthy, wealthy happy and fit...with a fighting spirit that will never quit.

If I properly plan and prepare to be healthier, wealthier and happier by the end of this year, there is a very good chance I will be. Don't you agree?

To accomplish that...I must properly plan and prepare each day to progress forward as aggressively as possible in all areas. This is going to require the energy for excellence.

These daily/weekly habits and rituals give me energy, they don't rob me of energy.

It's my hope and desire to influence my students to fine tune and develop their habits and rituals as well. Why is this so important to me? I prefer to be surrounded by like minded people that are leading positive and progressive lives.

Plan your Work Out– Work Out your Plan!

Let's team up to make it another great week...

Osu,
Kyoshi
