MAGNIFY THE POSITIVE - SHRINK THE NEGATIVE!
Imagine if you had the ability to only remember the positive things that ever happened to you, that your brain was conditioned to magnify all positive information and it automatically would shrink the negative stuff.
Guess What? You do have that ability!
The choice is yours. It is totally up to you to decide which you prefer to absorb and experience the most. When you choose to absorb the positive, you will find that you are in a much better mood and a far more positive and productive state of mind.
If you choose to absorb the negative, you will tend to have a negative attitude and your overall actions and appearance will attract more negatives into your life.
You can choose to have a positive and optimistic view of the world and people in general. Or, you can choose to have a negative and pessimistic view of the world, and the people around you. It is easy to become cynical, skeptical and negative.
We live in a strange world and there are certainly some people that will take advantage of you if you drop your guard. And sometimes negative situations or issues do occur.
The goal of this lesson is to overcome the negative with positive.
To condition your brain to...MAGNIFY THE POSITIVE & SHRINK THE NEGATIVE.
If you choose to magnify all the positive things and people in your life, you will attract more positives to yourself. By choosing the positive, you are automatically shrinking the negatives.
If you fill up on good nutritious food, there is less room for the junk food. It is no different with your mind, flush out the negative by filling it with positive.
Similarly, if you choose to associate with winners and positive successful people, you will soon become one yourself. If you choose to hang around with negative people and do negative things, you will lead a very negative life.
Lay down with a dirty dog and you will get fleas.
Be a World Class Black Belt Champion. In and out of the dojo. Think and act like a positive, action oriented, highly successful person. Surround yourself with other positive people of similar interests and stay involved with positive activities.
For most people, Martial Arts training is one of the most positive and productive ways to insure that you can keep yourself moving forward in a positive and progressive direction. Get fit... Stay fit... Never Quit!
F.Y.I.}Stuff you may want to know about...
We have been receiving tons of positive feedback from our recent Warriors Weekend held in
Ft. Lauderdale for members of our Martial Arts University International. MAUI continues to attract a high caliber of Martial Arts instructors and school owners that really want to grow and take themselves to the next level.
Our Palm Beach Garden Dojo is under complete renovation and is expected to be finished within the next few weeks. Sensei Dennis Emond and Mr. Ernie Karlson are doing a great job currently teaching over 100 students out of a leased out dance school in the PBG Plaza.
They are both eager and excited to move into their brand new facility. Sensei Dennis will be getting married at the end of April to 2nd Degree All Star Black Belt, Michelle Hoy.
Sensei Ty Hafner just completed an intensive two week final training and preparation with Kyoshi and the USABBC corporate team in Ft. Lauderdale. His dojo is also under construction in Rochester NY. That will be dojo #11 for the USABBC Team and is expected to be open for classes within the next 6-8 weeks.
Our MAUI World Headquarters continues to move along slowly but surely. Ft. Lauderdale zoning and permit processing is one of the slowest in the country since Hurricane Wilma.
However, we continue to stay aggressive with the project and now expect to be open in September. I am reluctant to say what year:) Never lose your sense of humor...
We have just completed South Florida's Black Belt pre-testing and now it is time to get ready for our Black Belt Spectacular on April 14th at the Westminster Academy Gymnasium.
TRAINING TIP: Stretch everyday to maintain and improve Flexibility.
Use it or lose it. That quote certainly fits when it comes to the adult body and maintaining good flexibility and range of motion. When it comes to my health and fitness, one of my personal goals is to always maintain a far above average level of strength, stamina and flexibility.
So far, my plan is working. Today's tip is focusing on the latter of the three areas of a well balanced fitness program. It has always amazed me how many people instantly tell you that their flexibility sucks, and they do nothing to improve it.
It is almost as if they have been given a life sentence of terrible flexibility.
Everyone can improve their flexibility and everyone certainly can benefit from a thorough and consistent head-to-toe flexibility program. I have several great students that love to train, but dedicate so little effort and energy to improving their flexibility.
Not only would their skill level improve, they would recover quicker between workouts
and would be minimize the risk of injury.
Could you benefit from a more thorough stretching program? Of course you could.
Your body stretches better if it is slightly warmed up before you stretch it. This is why many combat athletes will shadow box or go for a light jog before they begin an intense workout.
When training myself or my students, we always do a light jog around and/or some shadow boxing before going into a thorough stretch routine. Within the first 7-10 minutes, your body temperature rises and you begin to break a slight sweat.
Some of us are dripping wet half way through the student creed:) Mat rag!!!
During the next 10 minutes, it is time to stretch your muscles and tendons further so that they will be ready for the intensity you are about to put your body through. Most advanced level workouts will last about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half.
It is always a good idea to finish with some cool down stretches. The stretching you do at the end of your workout really helps to break up the lactic acid in the muscles and enhances recovery and reduces soreness.
Even on the days that you may not be doing an intense one hour or longer workout, it's always a good idea to do some light stretching.
Remember...Use it or Lose it.
Train Hard...Enjoy the Rewards!

Kyoshi
