Never let Minimums become your Maximum!
Becoming an A-Rated Black Belt Champion is much more than just earning a belt around your waist. It's about becoming the best you can be in all aspects of life.
The habits, attitudes and skills we develop in the dojo have a powerful impact on our
lives outside the dojo.
Hi-Achievers know you never achieve maximum results by giving minimum effort.
You will never achieve a full split if you don't stretch yourself beyond current limits.
The MINIMUM –vs– MAXIMUM theory teaches us that must develop the habit of giving our best effort and energy if we want to achieve our best results. Most people develop the habit of giving their minimum everyday, doing just enough to get by.
Doing just enough to get by is is one of the reasons why most people will never become Hi-Achievers. It's not that they couldn't…it's just that they don't!
Most people are simply not willing to give their best effort and energy.
You are not training in the Martial Arts to be like most people.
You are training to become part of the Top 5% Achievers and a Champion, this is why you must understand and apply this simple theory of success.
Habits we train are habits we gain. Get in the habit of aiming to be the best you can be, always give your best effort and strive to achieve your best results.
The Best Always Get Better!
Great Stuff in Upstate NY, the origin of USABBC...
I write this during my flight back to Florida, after a fantastic week in Syracuse.
How did I get so lucky? One week I'm on the mat with Helio Gracie, the next I'm training with hundreds of eager Black Belts and now I prepare to host Warriors Weekend in FTL.
The Martial Arts is amazing and I'm loving every minute of it. It's a healthy and active lifestyle that brings out the best in everyone, it just keeps getting better and better.
From the start of my visit in Syracuse, I continue to be amazed and impressed with the entire team in the Upstate area. The Upstate NY Masters Council consisting of Shihan Andrello, Master Sgarlata and Master Feidt, continue to show their greatness as leaders, teachers, partners, students and friends.
I am so impressed with the way they, and the rest of USA Sensei Team work together to make things happen. Our first training class and meeting on Wednesday morning @ 8:30 am consisted of nearly 30 hi-quality and well conditioned professional Black Belt team members. All eager and ready to train, followed by meetings and discussions of the weekend ahead.
They are always ready to take massive action for the current events, while preparing for the next step in our journey to Vision 2010 and beyond. There was a buzz in the air as we all prepared for our largest ever Black Belt testing and Spectacular Demo.
A total of 81 Black Belt Graduates , 51-1st Degree/19-2nd Degree/8-3rd Degrees and 3-4th Degrees. Plus, close to another 50 high ranking Black Belts involved in the Power Weekend and Black Belt Spectacular. Well over 100 talented Black Belts that are in shape and ready to demonstrate their best!
In between all the training, meetings and preparation, I also had the great pleasure of visiting our newest school. Sensei Ty Hafner's beautiful new dojo in Rochester, NY. I was actually able to observe his first ever class being taught.
I think I might have made him a little nervous:) His school screams World Class from the moment you drive into parking lot, to the second you walk into his front door, to the time you exit. It's in a fantastic area, a great plaza and the facility is sweet.
Sensei Hafner has already enrolled #18 New Members and is now open for classes. I am very confident that he will do extremely well. It's going to fun to watch, learn and share his experience with everyone.
The Black Belt Spectacular represented another historical event for USABBC, our largest
team ever (QQS!) and Sensei Nolan of Team Dewitt had his first Black Belt graduates.
All Masters and Sensei's, along with their Black Belt wives and family members performed on the demo. That in itself was an impressive performance and a great display of the Families that Kick Together, Stick Together.
Sensei KO Andrello also performed with her Mother, Sherry and her daughter Damiana to show a three generation Black Belt family. Sensei Groesbeck was glowing with pride as his daughter Tori achieved her Black Belt, making for the entire Groesbeck Black Belt family.
MAUI Team Member, Master Khechen brought his team down from Buffalo, NY to observe the event and will also be at our upcoming Warriors Weekend, I am hoping to have him share his experience with the MAUI team. It was an honor to have them make the trip.
We also awarded Sensei titles to two long time professional team members and highly committed and impressive contributors. USABBC welcomes and congratulates Sensei Kris Munger and Sensei Joe Passalaqua.
For those of you that know these two gentleman, you are well aware of their passion and commitment to the Martial Arts and their loyalty to our system and association. Please show your support and extend them a heartfelt congratulations. Osu Sensei's!
Overall, it was an exciting, action filled and very inspiring week of great Martial Arts training, bonding and high energy activity. The weather was great and attitudes were even better. How did we all get so lucky?
I hope you'll send me your May Kaizen report right away to keep me up to date with your progress in all five of the key areas we've been discussing since the beginning of the year.
Summertime is here and there are 24 days of classes for the month.
We are dedicating June to all Dad's and naming it Father's Appreciation Month.
Martial Arts Dad's are cool, they walk their talk and set a great example for their kids. So many people talk a good game, our Dad's do what they say. They train hard, they work hard, they give tons of love and support to their families and they smile a lot more than most others Dad's.
They are very sincere and caring Fathers and they train their stress out in the dojo and bring a harmonious attitude into their homes. Martial Arts Dad's Rock!
Let's team up to make it a great week!
Osu,
Kyoshi
