Lavallee's Life Lessons

Champions are Driven!

Champions are driven to succeed and achieve.

Becoming a Black Belt Champion is a daily process of thinking, acting and living a positive and productive life. Taking action everyday to become a better person and lead a better life.

The journey to Black Belt is an exciting and enjoyable step by step process of self discovery and personal self development.

It's not about the belt, it's the overall achievement and what the belt represents.

To most people, it represents living by a higher standard of excellence and striving to be your absolute best in everything you do, in your personal and professional life as well.

Earning a Black Belt is looked at worldwide as a symbol of personal excellence and achievement of a higher self, mentally, physically and emotionally.

The goal itself creates an energy and internal drive that brings out the best in everyone that sets their sights on the completion of this very worthwhile objective. It is intended to be a challenging and tough goal that forces you to grow and improve in well rounded manner.

It challenges your skill, will and conditioning. The progress, growth and change has a very positive and dramatic impact on a persons overall self image and esteem.

Champions are driven to succeed and achieve excellence in all areas of their life. Never allowing or accepting mediocrity, always striving to improve and grow to the next level... and there is always a next level.

Martial Arts training instill habits of excellence and one of them is the drive to succeed and achieve goals in all areas of life.

FYI=>Great stuff to share...

I hope you've had a great week and that you had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.

I'm just returning from Las Vegas, where I spoke at the Martial Arts Super Show.

Sponsored by Century Martial Arts, the event is the largest of it's kind and it attracts a huge number of professional Martial Artists from all styles, backgrounds and specialties.

You could clearly see the influence of Mixed Martial Arts at this years event.

UFC Champions Chuck Liddel, Matt Hughes and many of American Top Team's best of the best were there providing instruction and inspiration for everyone in attendance.

The president of UFC, Dana White spoke at the opening ceremonies and shared some great stats on the tremendous popularity of Mixed Martial Arts world wide. It certainly looks like MMA is becoming a Tsunami of professional sporting events.

Century and UFC made an official announcement of their teaming up to provide top quality training equipment and instructional information to the growing demand amongst MMA enthusiasts and the professional Martial Artists wanting to answer that demand.

The Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA) recognized and awarded my good friend, Master Ernie Reyes this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

A well deserved award and after expressing his gratitude, Ernie and his World Action Demo Team gave another unbelievable performance. They keep getting better and better.

My speech this year was titled "Conquering the Business without Compromising the Art!"

Which I think is a good philosophy for everyone involved in any aspect of business. It really boils down to excelling in what you do professionally, while doing everything possible to maintain and improve on integrity of the original arts you are now representing.

Said another way...Become the best you can possible become and never forget where you came from and never forget those that helped you get there!

It was a powerful and inspiring weekend that was another strong reminder and indicator that the Martial Arts continues to grow stronger and stronger. The benefits of traditional training will always be there for those that desire it.

All while there is a powerful movement toward some form of Multi-Style, Mixed Martial Arts training. The reality is that has already been occurring for a long time. There are many forms of Martial Arts styles and training methods...I love it all. Some more than others.

It's all good if you look for the good and stay focused on the right stuff.

Well, it was great to be there and it's even better to be back home, I hope your ready to kick some butt this week to make great things happen.

We are now officially into the second half of the year and I hope to see you and everyone you can influence, make the next 6 months, the best we have ever seen.

Let's make great things happen this week!

Osu,
Kyoshi
