Lavallee's Life Lessons

Champions Have Integrity

A BLACK BELT is a worldwide recognized symbol that represents a high level of excellence, not just in physical skill, but also in attitude, behavior and character.

Integrity is vital ingredient for any leader, in and out of the Martial Arts.

Having integrity and a solid character, leads to earning the respect and trust of others.

Black Belt Leaders always honor their commitments and accept their responsibilities in life.

They are people that can be trusted and counted on, they are dependable and always there to back up their team, friends and family. As Leaders in our communities and as dedicated students of the Martial Arts, we must constantly remind ourselves to go beyond the physical aspects and to also practice the mental and character developing aspects of the arts.

BLACK BELT CHAMPIONS live by a code of ethics and honor.

They walk their talk and are value driven.

Champions live by the principles of Black Belt.

Being liked, trusted and respected by others is an honored position in life.

To deserve this honor, we must always practice and live with Integrity.

Congratulations to the USABBC Demo Team and affiliated members of Martial Arts University International, on their fantastic performance at this years International Martial Arts Summit held in Key Biscayne, Florida.

The feedback has been awesome and all who witnessed were inspired by the dynamic Multi-Style versatile skills being performed at such high levels of expertise.

I would also like to congratulate to our Upstate NY Team on the successful graduating Black Belt Force for October 2007.

A total of sixty nine graduates, lead by Sensei Jeff Groesbeck for 5th Degree.

Another seven team members were promoted to 4th Degree, five for 3rd Degree, thirteen for 2nd Degree and forty three 1st Degree Black Belts.

The team continues to grow in quality, quantity and spirit.

How did I get so lucky?

Last week I was at the Summit in Miami and this week I am in Syracuse for their Black Belt testing. Next week I am back in Florida for Exam Week and Black Belt pre-checks for our upcoming Black Belt Spectacular in November.

I just love the Martial Arts and more important...what it does for people.

The relationships and friends I have developed through the Martial Arts are the best.

There is nobody I would rather be around, than fellow Martial Artists.

People that train to improve themselves and are action oriented doers in life.

Martial Arts brings out the best in everyone and helps them to be their best.

Everyday we train is a great day. Therefor, why not train everyday?

I hope your ready for a great week of training and achievement.

Best of Success!

Osu,
Kyoshi
