Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a complex martial art, principally based on grappling and joint lock techniques together with basic strikes and sweeps, taught masterfully here in this DVD series. It focuses on three of the key areas that are essential to understanding the art of BJJ: the guard position, passing the guard and submissions. The aim of each DVD is to introduce the viewer to the fundamental skills required so that they can develop them with a partner or in a class situation. In this DVD, Rick Young expertly demonstrates submissions from a range of positions, including the guard, side control, the mount, north and south and while on your opponent's back. Learning to use these positions to gain the advantage is an important step for anyone wishing to progress in and ultimately master the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
