Retired Police Sgt. Doug Grant, police instructor and one time Police Olympic Champion in Judo, has just released a professionally produced crime safety DVD. He calls the system Penumbra (Surviving the Edge of Darkness) Defend Yourself. Grant has taught at the FBI swat school, Interpol classes, and assisted in revising the U.S. Army hand to hand fighting manual. Now at the age of 76 and having seen the increase in street crime he believes this is a very unique system of crime proofing people. He says the program is really not martial arts and can be done by the average person. The DVD covers strategy driving, carjackers, hostage situations, and the best street robbery, handgun disarms ever filmed. Produced in chapter segments with a dramatic opening and ending includes a photo guide featuring fitness model, Charis Nawrocki who has appeared on the Oprah show. The DVD is endorsed by the former FBI agent Jim Lorimer, World Karate Champion Tokey Hill, and John Saylor former coach at the Olympic Center in Colorado.
