Figure Eight Theory - Weapons to Empty Hands concentrates on the familiar figure-eight pattern. Rene Latosa explains that while some interpret this movement as defensive, the techniques can be better used to press an attack. The three ranges are explained, as well as how to use the figure-8 as a footwork pattern. Includes: the crossover to empty hand fighting, the concepts of "zoning", entering and using the figure-eight to intercept kicks and knee strikes. Explained is the "So What?" theory of counter-strikes: the attacker intercepts your move, you say "so what?" as your follow-up goes right around it!
